Survey Design & Planning
Optimizing a seismic survey to meet and surpass the proposed objectives is paramount to a successful exploration program. SIGMA³ uses our geophysical expertise and a variety of commercial software packages to model and design the survey. Modeling steps include velocity model building; reprocessing of previously acquired data or synthetic data for determinations of offsets, streamer separations and mutes, and source modeling. Once the modeling is complete, a seismic survey is designed which will optimize the calculated parameters and most accurately image the geologic target.
Field quality control of data can eliminate many potential problems with the processed data set. To provide comprehensive quality control, our experts have broad experience including land, marine and transition zone acquisition. In addition, SIGMA³ employs industry standard software packages for evaluating quality issues such as fold coverage and seismic noise. SITC personnel offer a competitive edge for quality acquisition.
Hazard Survey Design
SIGMA3 scientists have been involved in many of the recent developments in shallow hazard analysis, and are highly qualified to assist our clients in designing optimal shallow hazard surveys. We provide the necessary personnel to design, support and QC your shallow hazard survey needs including deepwater hazard surveys using seismic data, side-scan sonar and other methods.
Surveying & Geodetics Support
Determining land and lease ownership can often delay or deter an otherwise successful survey program. Insuring that due diligence has been performed in the permitting and site evaluation process increases the effectiveness of acquisition of a seismic survey. Our scientists have extensive experience with permits, landowners, legal issues and title searches that provide the extra edge to a successful survey.
Accurate positioning of seismic surveys, hazards, property lines, well and pipeline locations are key to a successful exploration program, and help to reduce risk and lower CAPEX. SIGMA³ scientists are skilled in the latest positioning technologies, including GPS to provide you with the greatest positioning accuracy available.
