Jorge Machnizh, Chairman & Co-Founder
Jorge Machnizh, Chairman of Sigma Cubed Inc. (SIGMA³), is an accomplished, high integrity and widely recognized global oil and gas industry executive. He has held leadership positions at some of the most well-known companies in the industry, including Corporate Director at G4S (wwwg4s.com), a global enterprise providing comprehensive security solutions. Prior to this he served President and COO of Paradigm Geotechnologies (www.pdgm.com), a leader in subsurface geosciences and technology software and consulting services with offices in 24 countries, where he was instrumental in leading and developing a high growth strategy and transforming and setting fundamental business practices and operations resulting in sustained mid-twenties growth, expanding internationally and diversifying customer base in anticipation of a public offering (IPO). During his tenure Paradigm secured the largest enterprise agreements in its history and quadrupled revenues from top 15 customers.
Before joining Paradigm, he served as President of Imaging Systems Group and COO of Input/Output Inc. (NYSE:IO), and was instrumental in restructuring Image Systems Group and architecting a complete turnaround. Negotiating and integrating two major acquisitions, he successfully transitioned the company from a geophysical equipment manufacturer to an integrated technology-driven organization resulting in 5X growth in shareholder value.
Before joining Input/Output in 2003, Jorge held positions as Vice President of North American and Latin American Operations for Landmark, a Halliburton Company subsidiary. Responsible for directing business activities for the company's technology and services offerings, he successfully grew North American revenues over $220M and Latin American operations by 400 percent. Jorge's ability to identify and capitalize on new business opportunities, through strong senior level E&P executive relationships building, negotiations and closing, has been a constant throughout his career and was a key factor in securing major contracts with Super Majors, Independents and National Oil Companies.
Prior to his successes at Landmark, he enjoyed a successful 10-year relationship with Schlumberger Geco-Prakla, where he advanced from Land Acquisition Manager to Regional General Manager of Latin America. Jorge was pivotal in expanding their presence and revenue growth throughout the region, where he opened branches and established organizational infrastructures in Venezuela, Bolivia, Argentina, Peru, Brazil, and Mexico and provided innovative marketing, sales and operations strategies and execution. Earlier in his career, Jorge enjoyed success introducing new technologies including management the first commercial 3D seismic operations in North America and Latin America. Earlier, as Party Chief, he led a crew in the Alaskan Arctic and achieved record breaking production along with high quality data acquisition, with minimal environmental impact in the Alaskan North Slope.
Jorge has served on board of the IAGC (International Association of Geophysical Contractors), he's a member of SEG and EAGE additionally he's affiliated with the Institute for Global Ethics and a contributor to Funds for Teachers and he has numerous technical and business publications worldwide..
Jorge has an international background. Born in Argentina, he traveled throughout the world during his formative years, and is a Naturalized Citizen of the United States. Jorge is multi-cultural, and multi-lingual, with fluency in English, Spanish, Portuguese, French and Italian. Jorge majored in Geology at the University of Southern California, completed post graduate education in Geophysics at the Colorado Schools of Mines and SEG, and Columbia University in Sales and Marketing.
