Job Description: SIGMA³ seeks an experienced, well-published rock physicist with expertise in rock physics modeling, reconciliation of core, well log and seismic data, and excellent customer facing skills to deliver R&D on rock physics, pressure prediction and elements of rock mechanics/geomechanics. Project work on key projects must demonstrate value of new technology and an understanding of client gaps and needs, feeding back into improved R&D.
This position requires deep and broad knowledge of rock physics, anisotropy, and mechanical earth modeling for unconventional shale reservoirs, fractured carbonates and conventional clastic reservoirs is vitally important to all of the SIGMA³ geoscience and engineering business lines. Primary emphasis will be on unconventional rock physics modeling and pressure prediction. Training in the latter area will be provided, as needed. This is a high-visibility job with significant growth opportunities.
- PhD and several years of industry experience.
